The day at the school in the Amazon part II

One of the teachers in Weymouth had all of her students make bracelets for the students in Ecuador using Weymouth colors of maroon and gold. The students were so excited when they had their bracelets.

Meanwhile, another teacher introduced some of the kids to a few games on her iPad. They were mesmerized. The kids were playing a game the speech and language therapist uses with her students back in Weymouth.

We spent time with small groups of students. Each teacher had a group of about five students.

The school made lunch for us. It was a delicious combination of rice, chicken, and vegetables. It was all wrapped beautifully in a banana leaf.

We ate in the school lunch room. The table was covered with huge banana leaves. How cool was that?! The headband I was wearing was made by one of the women in the community. They weave leaves and make things to wear, such as bracelets and headbands.

Once we were finished with our lunch, we served the rice to the kids. The day kept getting better and better.
